Now that you have all made your first batch of Scottish Tablet you might be wondering to do with your wonderful slabs of sugary gold. Or if you haven’t made it yet maybe you are looking for another nudge in the right direction.
Tablet melts in your mouth and in small quantities is a perfect sweet addition to an after-dinner coffee, but for some people tablet is just too sweet by itself (I am not one of these people). In a bid to not eat all the remainders of my Father’s Day batch by myself I decided some other way of eating it was necessary.
I also had one other problem. The supermarket deals had won me over again, and I had bought a punnet of Scottish Strawberries. However as supermarkets tend to do they weren’t all that ripe, a little sugar was needed to balance their tartness. Put my two problems together and you get tablet sweetened strawberries.
I sliced strawberries, halved blueberries added one scoop of vanilla ice cream to each bowl and crumbled a quarter of a round of tablet on top.
Delish.
